As always, we’re interested in tracking the progress of every industry in Australia when it comes to innovation. We’re committed to helping the country move forward as a whole, and we’re glad to be along for the ride to catalogue the various changes at every level of our society. Smartphones and other mobile devices have been changing the way that all industries conduct business. We spoke to Marcus from Melbourne Dilaps, a Melbourne-based provider of dilapidation reports, “We found out about this app that really cuts down on the amount of work we have to put into each job,” Marcus explained, “We’re talking hours off of the manual labour involved. It really saves a ton of time.”
Learning how to streamline business operations can really turn things around for any company. This business generates comprehensive dilapidation reports for clients so that they can avoid litigation and other expenses in the future by getting a thorough review of a building’s history, “By being able to have all of that information in one place, whether it is the local building codes and regulations for the county, or whether you need more information on the history of the property in specific, having a unified source for all of the most pertinent info to any given job is a lifeline for us.”
Marcus explained further, “Imagine having to go to one application like Excel to find a spreadsheet with client information, and then you have to flick over to a website that lists information about a property’s history. Having all of that together in one place is invaluable, and I deeply appreciate the work that the developers we hired got from their company.”
If you’ve ever considered combining all of your applications in one place as a manager, you’ve probably run into software like Slack which purports that it will be able to be your single source of everything relevant to your company’s current tasks. Some companies are looking to evolve beyond this idea entirely and create their own mobile and web applications to manage their clients, customers, scheduling, and more.
We’ll continue to seek out other businesses for exclusive, candid interviews on what they’re doing to stay ahead in their respective industries.
