Theatre: Play ReadingsSchedule pendingDarwin Theatre CompanyIn 2009, the Darwin Theatre Company (DTC) will join with Charles Darwin University, the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory, Darwin City Council and the Darwin community in celebrating the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin (12 February) and the 150th anniversary of the first publication of the Origin of Species. The life and work of Charles Darwin will be the overall theme to the readings which will include plays that either discuss directly the life and work of Darwin or highlight the implications of his discoveries. On a broader level, there will also be consideration of plays which explore the dilemmas of those whose ideas challenge societal norms.
