Exhibition: Dinostory26 December, 2008 - 26 April, 2009Frankston Waterfront, FrankstonDinostory is the second exhibition at Frankston Waterfront by the group Sandstorm Events, which has rallied sculptors from the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, UK, Russia, Singapore, Canada and the USA to join its Australian team and turn 3500 tonnes of sand into a scene from your dino-dreams. Embracing the popularity of all things dinosaurian, and these sculptors have created a valley of creatures from the Triassic, Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. This was a time in the history of the Earth when dinosaurs were the dominant life form, roaming most of the planet, including Australia. This exhibition features several dozen dinosaurs that inhabited our country when it was part of the super-continent known as Gondwanaland. Integrated with the sand sculptures there are activities to keep the whole family entertained. Try your hand at sand sculpting in the Workshop area, or learn more about the art by chatting to our resident sculptor. During school holidays and on weekends and public holidays, there will be many more activities available including Sand Art, Sand Bottles, and Gingerbread Decorating, as well as roving entertainers.
