Super Human: Revolution of the Species Inspired by the 150th publication anniversary of Darwin’s evolutionary treatise, On the Origin of the Species, the Super Human: Revolution of the Species suite of events turns the spotlight on contemporary art and science collaborative research and practice and its interpretations of - and impacts upon - the human body. Symposium 23 – 24 November 2009 The Super Human symposium is a single-stream event presenting an invigorating and inspiring program of speakers discussing their collaborative research projects engaging with one or more of the symposium themes: Augmentation, Cognition and Nanoscale Interventions.

The ground-breaking artworks in the Super Human exhibition are drawn from the worlds of nanotechnology, neurology, cognition, biology and augmentation, exposing both our aspirations and our fears about our bodies and their extraordinary functions. Curating Masterclass 25 – 26 November 2009 An unsurpassed opportunity to engage with the world’s leading curators bringing emerging artforms to broad-based audiences. The Super Human masterclass, a two-day intensive theoretical and practical workshop, provides the essential skills and knowledge to enable curators and writers to introduce audiences to these extraordinary new practices.
